Fifth meeting of the EECA Judges’ Forum
The fifth meeting of the Regional EECA Judges Forum, organized by UNDP, took place on November 27-28, 2023 in Chisinau, Moldova. For two days judges and other representatives of the judicial system, international partners, distinguished speakers and civil society discussed the issues and achievements in ensuring a non-discriminatory approach in judiciary.
The discussions and presentations of the Forum covered the following topics:
- The concept of “Undetectable means Untransmittable” (U=U) meaning that people with HIV who take antiretroviral therapy (ART) and have achieved an undetectable viral load do not transmit the virus to others through sexual contact.
- HIV, law and human rights in EECA countries: epidemiological trends and policy implications.
- European Integration and Strategies for Harmonization of Law and Practice in the region.
- The role of the judiciary in protecting vulnerable populations.
- Perspectives and key milestones in drug policy in the EECA region.
