Olena Volkova

Judge Olena Volkova began her career as a lawyer in 1992 as a consultant of the Pervomaisky City Court in the Mykolaiv region. Since the establishment of the State Executive Service in 1999, she headed it in Pervomaisk, Nikolaev region. Since 2003 Judge Olena Volkova has been working as a judge of the local court in Yuzhnoukrainsk, Mykolaiv region. Judge Olena Volkova was one of the first in Ukraine to deliver training on the European Convention on Human Rights at the National School of Judges of Ukraine. She is a trainer on gender equality. Her professional development as a judge and trainer was particularly influenced by her participation in the 2017 South African Judges’ Forum. The forum was the starting point and laid the groundwork for the EECA Judges’ Forum.
